Most of us are women. Many of us dress in black. We stay fairly silent. At the Women in Black vigil in Palestine, Israelis, Palestinians, and others stand together in mourning. They call for peace, and an End to the relentless, unspeakable, blood & tear-soaked cycle of violence. They take, and we are taking, a Stand for Sanity, Justice, and Peace all over the world. It is time for compassion to rule. Weaponry and profits have guided our species to the brink of extinction.

We stand, most holding signs, from 4:00- 5:00 year round. We vigil at the corner of Front and Market Streets in front of the county courthouse building in Harrisburg. We are careful not to block the sidewalk or to interfere with traffic. All are welcome to stand with us in silence. We ask that any conversations be as quiet as possible. Many of us dress in black. Though most of us are women, we do encourage men to participate as well. And children are always welcome. Please join us...Take a Stand! If we don't stand for something, we often fall for anything!! - like torture, secret prisons, and the wholesale slaughter of innocent civilians...STOP THE MADNESS!    join us.....

We meet on the first and third Mondays of every month: 4:00-5:00 pm. We vigil at the corner of Front and Market Streets in Harrisburg, near the Dauphin County Courthouse. [This year, we have occasionally moved to the intersection of Front and Walnut Streets (The "Walking Bridge"), call 737-7211 if you have any questions]. We Stand in silent witness for Peace, and an End to militarism and war. We stand for Justice.
